Three days on the peninsula
How to spend a first visit without spending it in the car: one bay, one town, one long dinner per day.

Çeşme
Çeşme town is where the peninsula does its business: the Genoese castle above the harbour, the marina, the ferry terminal for Chios, banks, markets and a promenade that fills at dusk. It is the least designed and most useful of the areas. Dinner ranges from marina tables to old-town streets behind the castle; days are easily spent on errands, a museum hour and a swim elsewhere on the coast. Everything on the peninsula is within a short drive from here. It suits first visits, shorter trips, travellers without a car, and anyone who wants a town rather than a resort.

Beaches
The peninsula has sand on one side and rock on the other. Which you want depends on the day you have in mind.

Eating
The village has more restaurants per street than anywhere on the peninsula. A little structure helps.
