Three days on the peninsula
How to spend a first visit without spending it in the car: one bay, one town, one long dinner per day.

Çeşme
Where you sleep on the peninsula decides the shape of your trip more than the room does. Alaçatı gives you dinners and stone streets but no beach. Ilıca puts you on sand with everything within walking distance. Çeşme town is practical and well connected. The quieter coasts give you space and require a car. Stays range from restored stone houses with a handful of rooms to full-service resorts on the water. In August, book early; in shoulder season, negotiate.

Beaches
The peninsula has sand on one side and rock on the other. Which you want depends on the day you have in mind.

Eating
The village has more restaurants per street than anywhere on the peninsula. A little structure helps.
