Dalyan

Dalyan sits just north of central Çeşme and feels more residential than many of the peninsula’s better-known resort areas. Its small harbour, fishing boats and waterfront restaurants give the neighbourhood a strong local character.

The harbour is one of the main reasons people come here, especially in the evening. Seafood and Aegean meze feature prominently on local menus, but Dalyan is not only a dinner destination. A walk along the waterfront, time around the harbour and a swim at one of the nearby beaches can easily fill several hours.

Kocakarı Beach, near the entrance to Dalyan, is one of the area’s best-known places to swim. It is a useful option if you want to combine a beach stop with lunch or dinner nearby without travelling far across the peninsula.

The atmosphere is generally calmer than in Alaçatı or Ayayorgi. There is less emphasis on nightlife and large beach venues, which makes Dalyan a good choice for travellers looking for a slower evening by the water.

Its proximity to central Çeşme also makes it easy to visit without dedicating a full day to the area. If you are planning dinner during the busiest summer weeks, booking ahead is sensible, particularly for popular waterfront restaurants.
