Secluded Aegean cove near Çeşme with clear turquoise water, pale rock and a single anchored sailboat

Çeşme

Altınkum

Altınkum is a run of sandy coves on the south-western shore, sheltered enough that the water reads pale turquoise and stays calm when the north coast is windy. It is the peninsula's most straightforward beach: park, swim, eat, repeat. Facilities are seasonal and simple — loungers, showers, kitchens serving grilled fish and salads. It fills quickly in August, so arrive before eleven or after four. It suits day trips from Alaçatı or Çeşme town, families, and anyone who wants sand underfoot rather than a platform.
