Ayayorgi

Ayayorgi is one of the best-known bays close to central Çeşme. Its sheltered position usually keeps the water calmer than on the peninsula’s more exposed shores, which is a large part of its appeal during the summer months.

Most visitors spend the day at one of the beach clubs lining the bay rather than moving between different spots. Mornings tend to be centred on swimming and relaxing by the water, while some venues become noticeably livelier in the afternoon with music, fuller tables and a crowd that stays well into the evening.

Ayayorgi is not the place to choose if you are looking for a long, open public beach. Much of the shoreline is occupied by organised beach venues, so access to the water is often tied to a particular establishment. Reservation policies, entrance charges and minimum-spend requirements can vary, especially in July and August, and are best checked directly before you go.

The area works particularly well for travellers who want to combine a beach day with lunch, music and sunset without changing locations several times. If you prefer a quieter stretch of coast with fewer organised venues, other parts of the Çeşme peninsula may suit you better.

Ayayorgi is also close enough to central Çeşme to make it an easy day trip from town, but summer traffic can add time to the journey. Arriving earlier in the day is usually the simplest option.
